ABOUT
Hello! I am a Midwest grown collector of knowledge transplanted to the Georgia coast.
I have spent the last 20 years researching my family's tree. My research has taken me throughout the Midwest, to Canada and both the East and West Coasts. Extending beyond North America, my family extends to Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, and France. Many of my ancestral lines go back to the American Revolution and before. I have utilized site visits, online sources, as well numerous published works to research multiple locations during a wide variety of time frames.

My grandfather also did extensive genealogy research on his family and I have inherited his work, which includes many resources on Kansas and New England history and genealogy. Additionally, I have acquired several resources of my own, mainly Illinois based.

Professionally, I have a Bachelor's degree in History and spent 13 years as a junior and senior high history teacher. I also spent 6 years as an Inventory Project Analyst in the corporate world. As odd as it seems, this job was a great fit for my research and analytic skills. In fact, when my employer had me take a StrengthsFinder analysis, my top five traits ended up being those that fit perfectly with my genealogy passion -
Context (I understand the present by researching the past)
Adaptability (I am able to take things as they come and "go with the flow", including unexpected family discoveries)
Input (with my craving to know more, I like to collect and archive information)
Intellection (I am introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions)
Restorative (I am good at figuring out what is wrong and resolving it).

I am eager to assist you in your own family heritage search. I am committed to abiding by the Guidelines for Sound Genealogical Research set forth by the National Genealogical Society and honoring the Code of Ethics and Professional Practices established by the Association of Professional Genealogists.
